Along The Working River
Built in the late 1800s, this stately waterfront home was originally embellished with balconies, porches, and grand two-story columns. The current owners restored many features including a widows walk and decorative balustrades that were removed during a 1950s renovation. Original features inside include a large brick fireplace, quartersawn oak wainscoting and oak staircase. Of note are the many paintings on display by Pennsylvania impressionist painter Walter E. Baum, Mrs. Neikirks great-grandfather. An 18 x 55 family room and kitchen addition and a childs playroom that could later serve as a first floor bedroom add modern amenities to this historic property. Mr. and Mrs. Christopher R. Neikirk, owners.
