The 2016 walking tour of outstanding homes located in the West Ghent neighborhood and the adjacent Chelsea business district of Norfolk was held on Thursday, April 28th.
Located a few minutes from the bustling downtown central business district, the West Ghent neighborhood and the adjacent Chelsea business district, offer stately early 20th century homes, Weyanoke Wildlife Sanctuary, restaurants, a bakery, a brewery and other small businesses. Annexed in the late 1890s, West Ghent offers a mix of homes dating from the early 1920s to the present day.
Homes on the 2016 tour were within an easy walking or driving distance, and some visitors chose to walk or cycle the Elizabeth River Trail that runs through the neighborhood.
Special events included floral demonstrations, wildlife sanctuary guided tours, and a brewery tour.
The members of the Garden Club of Norfolk and Harborfront Garden Club created beautiful flower arrangements that complemented each homes’ elegant interiors.
